Naranjeros de Hermosillo (8-3) 14, Caneros de Los Mochis (7-4) 2 – A seven-run top of the ninth inning by Hermosillo turned a dominant win into a blowout as the Naranjeros retook possession of first place from Los Mochis. Darick Hall went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs, launching a three-run homer in the ninth. Sergio Burruel, Willie Calhoun, and Francisco Lugo each homered for the Naranjeros, and Wilmer Rios, the reigning Liga Mexicana de Beisbol pitcher of the year, threw six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks, striking out five. Leonys Martin hit his league-leading fourth homer of the winter for Los Mochis, a solo shot in the bottom of the first.

Aguilas de Mexicali (7-4) 3, Algodoneros de Guasave (2-9) 1 – Yadiel Hernandez drove in a run in the first with a sacrifice fly, Estevan Florial singled in another later in the opening frame, and Yadir Drake hit a solo homer as the Aguilas pitchers held the Algodoneros hitless until the ninth inning to finish off a sweep. Starter Victor Juarez allowed two walks over five hitless, scoreless innings for Mexicali, and four relievers combined for three scoreless, hitless innings, taking a 3-0 lead into the ninth. Kristian Delgado’s two-out double in the ninth broke up the Aguilas’ no-hitter. Jake Sanchez allowed two hits and a run in the ninth, with a triple by Carlos Arellano getting Kristian Delgado home with Guasave’s lone run.

Charros de Jalisco (7-4) 7, Jaguares de Nayarit (5-6) 6 (10 Innings) – Michael Wielansky was plunked in the bottom of the 10th with the bases loaded, pushing Mateo Gil across with the game-winning run for the Charros as they bounced back from a three-run deficit in the extra frame to complete the sweep of Nayarit. Bligh Madris hit his second homer of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth that tied the game for Jalisco, and Jared Serna and Reynaldo Rodriguez each had three hits for the defending Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico champs. Marcos Castañon hit his second homer of the year, a three-run shot that was confirmed by video review, to give Nayarit the lead in the top of the 10th.

Yaquis de Obregon (7-4) 4, Tucson Baseball Team (4-7) 2 – Obregon’s Odrisamer Despaigne allowed two runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out two after being staked to a 4-0 lead early as the Yaquis cruised to a sweep of Tucson. Roberto Valenzuela hit a bases-loaded double that scored all three runners and Andrew Navigato singled home Valenzuela to give the Yaquis a big lead in the top of the first. Three Yaquis relievers combined to allow one hit and one walk over 2 1/3 scoreless innings to seal the win.

Tomateros de Culiacan (6-5) 10, Venados de Mazatlan (2-9) 2 – Jon Singleton scored on a balk in the first and hit a three-run homer in the third, Joey Meneses drove in three runs with a pair of singles, and Brady Whalen’s RBI single in the sixth cemented the Tomateros’ easy win over Mazatlan.
