Caneros de Los Mochis 8, Tomateros de Culiacan 6 (10 Innings) – Eric Meza’s two-run homer in the top of the 10th gave the Caneros an 8-5 lead, and they held on for an 8-6 victory to remain in a three-way tie atop the LAMP standings with Culiacan and Mexicali. Christian Santana went 2-for-4 with two homers, two runs scored, a walk, and three RBIs for the Tomateros, who joined the Caneros and Aguilas at 5-2 with the loss.
Aguilas de Mexicali 4, Charros de Jalisco 3 – Alejandro Mejia went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a sac fly as the Aguilas improved to 5-2. Norberto Obeso went 2-for-3 with a run scored and drove in a run with an RBI single in the second. The Charros fell to 2-5 on the young season despite going 3-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Naranjeros de Hermosillo 4, Venados de Mazatlan 3 – Alan Rangel threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits, a walk, and striking out four, as the Naranjeros got back to .500 with a win Saturday night. Jordan Diaz drove in two runs for Hermosillo, one with a double in the bottom of the first and another with a single in the bottom of the seventh. Mazatlan battled back with three runs in the top of the ninth, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Algodoneros de Guasave 5, Mayos de Navajoa 0 – Jorge Perez threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits, a walk, and fanning three as the Algodoneros shut out Navajoa. Yadir Drake and Jesse Castillo each homered for Guasave, which improved to 2-4. Navajoa stranded 10 runners and went 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
Sultanes de Monterrey 3, Yaquis de Obregon 2 (10 Innings) – Daniel Sanchez’ ground ball to first in the 10th was enough to get Joel Flores home with the game-winning run and get the Sultanes to 4-3 on the year. Anthony Garcia’s sac fly in the ninth tied the game for Obregon. Carl Edwards Jr. threw six innings, allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts for Obregon.
