Yaquis de Obregon (23-13) 4, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (20-16) 0 – Kevin Villavicenio went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk, driving in a pair of runs with a single in the bottom of the third as the Yaquis shut out the Naranjeros behind six scoreless innings from starter Fernando Sanchez. Sanchez allowed three hits, two walks, and struck out five before handing the ball off to the bullpen, where RJ Alaniz, Samuel Zazueta, and Efrain Contreras combined to allow one hit over the final three innings.
Aguilas de Mexicali (19-17) 7, Charros de Jalisco (20-16) 6 – Julian Ornelas’ double in the bottom of the month sent Michael Wielansky home with the winning run as the Charros edged the Aguilas. Ornelas was one of four Charros to have a two-hit game, while Daniel Castro drove in a pair of runs for Jalisco with a triple in the bottom of the second and Philip Evans hit a solo homer in the seventh. Alex Mejia hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth and Bobby Bradley hit a solo homer in the top of the sixth for Mexicali.
Tomateros de Culiacan (19-17) 10, Jaguares de Nayarit (20-16) 3 – Jon Singleton hit his sixth homer of the a year, a two-run shot in the third, J.P. Martinez added a two-run shot in the sixth, and Ramon Rios went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI as the Tomateros splattered the Jaguares Tuesday night.
Venados de Mazatlan (13-23) 2, Caneros de Los Mochis (21-15) 1 (10 Innings) – Ramiro Pena’s 10th inning single scored Santiago Gomez with the winning run as Mazatlan climbed out of the cellar. Braulio Torres-Perez threw five scoreless innings for Mazatlan, allowing three hits, three walks, and striking out five. Leo German’s seventh-inning double scored Miles Simington for the Venados’ first run. Darel Torres threw six scoreless innings for Los Mochis, allowing four hits, walking three, and striking out four.
Algodoneros de Guasave (12-25) 10, Tucson Baseball Team (14-23) 4 – Orlando Pina went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs, one with a sac fly in the seventh and two more with a single in the ninth as the Algodoneros thumped the Baseball Team on Tuesday.
