Yaquis de Obregon (17-7) 3, Aguilas de Mexicali (11-13) 2 – Kevin Villavicenio’s RBI double in the fourth scored Braulio Cavero to get Obregon on the board, and Miguel Guzman followed with a double that scored Santiago Chavez and Villavicenio, giving the Yaquis all the offense they would need. Felipe Gonzalez threw five shutout innings, allowing six hits, three walks, and striking out three for Obregon. Alex Mejia’s two-run homer in the sixth was all the offense the Aguilas could muster.
Caneros de Los Mochis (15-9) 7, Algodoneros de Guasave (8-16) 3 – Yasmany Tomas went 3-for-3 with a homer, a walk, a pair of RBI singles, two runs scored and four RBIs as the Caneros breezed by Guasave. Leonys Martin added a homer for Los Mochis in the fifth, moving him into a tie for the league lead with injured teammate Asael Sanchez. Leo Heras and Orlando Pina each homered for the Algodoneros.
Tomateros de Culiacan (12-12) 9, Charros de Jalisco (14-10) 8 – Jon Singleton sent the Culiacan fans home happy with a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth that won the game for the Tomateros, and Orlando Martinez and Ichiro Cano each homered for the Tomateros in the win. Singleton went 1-for-3 and drew two walks, including a bases-loaded free pass in the fifth that pushed Ramon Rios across for Culiacan. Julian Ornelas hit a two-run homer for Jalisco, which led 7-0 after the top of the second but coughed up the lead and the game.
Naranjeros de Hermosillo (14-10) 7, Jaguares de Nayarit (12-12) 6 – Ricardo Valenzuela’s two-out, two-run single in the ninth got the Jaguares within a run, but they couldn’t get the tying run home as the Naranjeros held on for the win. Willie Calhoun and Jasson Atondo each had three hits for the Naranjeros, and Calhoun hit a solo homer in the fifth.
Venados de Mazatlan (8-16) 5, Tucson Baseball Team (9-15) 3 – Andres Alvarez went 3-for-5 for Mazatlan, scoring two runs and driving in one. Jose Urena went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and hit a two-run homer for Tucson.
