Yaquis de Obregon (13-6) 6, Charros de Jalisco (12-7) 5 – New arrival Kyren Paris’ two-out RBI double in the bottom of the ninth sent Roberto Valenzuela home with the winning run and giving Obregon sole possession of first place once again. Valenzuela tied the game with an RBI single in the ninth, and went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Yaquis, who got six innings of two-hit ball from starter Felipe Gonzalez. Gonzalez allowed two runs, two walks, and struck out five. Jalisco closer Trevor Clifton’s struggles continued, as he allowed two runs in 2/3 of an inning in the bottom of the ninth, earning a blown save and the loss.

Tomateros de Culiacan (10-9) 10, Caneros de Los Mochis (12-7) 5 – Jon Singleton went 4-for-6 with a solo homer, a ground rule double, two runs scored and two RBIs as the Tomateros trounced Los Mochis. Luis Juarez hit a three-run homer in the first, and Singleton’s first-inning double sent J.P. Martinez home as Culiacan built a 7-0 lead before the Caneros sent a batter to the plate. Yasmany Tomas hit his second homer of the year, a solo shot in the fifth, for the Caneros.
Aguilas de Mexicali (10-9) 3, Venados de Mazatlan (5-14) 0 – Manuel Orduno’s two-run homer in the second gave Mexicali a lead they’d never relinquish, and Estevan Florial’s sac fly in the third got Yadir Drake home with an insurance run. Mazatlan returned to the LAMP’s basement, mustering just five hits and drawing one walk and going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Algodoneros de Guasave (6-13) 2, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (10-9) 1 – Harold Ramirez got the Naranjeros on the board with a sac fly in the first inning, but Hermosillo couldn’t get any more offense. Wynton Bernard drove in Oscar Colas and Orlando Pina with a single in the fourth to give the Algodoneros a 2-1 lead that held up despite Guasave not getting a baserunner over the final 3 1/3 innings.
Tucson Baseball Team (7-12) 5, Jaguares de Nayarit (10-9) 3 – Agustin Ruiz went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs as Tucson snapped their four-game losing streak. Ruiz’ two-run double in the sixth tied the game at three apiece, and Ruiz later scored Tucson’s fifth run of the game in the eighth on Alexis Wilson’s ground out. Carlos Sepulveda, Jacob Rhinesmith, and Ricardo Valenzuela each doubled for Nayarit.
