Águilas Cibaeñas (16-3) 13, Toros del Este (10-10) 6 – On Tuesday night, the Águilas Cibaeñas unleashed another dominant all-around performance, taking control early against Toros del Este.
Alberto Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBIs and a run scored for the Aguilas.
In the top of the first, Jeimer Candelario ripped a line-drive double to left to score Gilberto Celestino, and Sandber Pimentel followed with a ground-ball single to right that deflected off first baseman Raynel Delgado, bringing in Jared Oliva and Candelario to give the Toros an early lead.
In the bottom of the third, shortly after Angel Genao and J.C. Escarra each hit sacrifice flies to get the Aguilas on teh board, Rodriguez launched his third home run of the season, a towering shot to center that brought home Leody Taveras and Ezequiel Duran to make it 5-3, and Taveras later added his first homer of the season with a line drive to right an inning later.
In the bottom of the sixth, Angel Genao hit an RBI single that scored Steward Berroa, Loedy Taveras got Raynel Delgado home with a ground out to first, and then Escarra lined a sharp single to left, bringing home Angel Genao to give the Aguilas a 9-5 lead.

In the seventh, Ezequiel Duran hit a ground-ball single up the middle to drive in Delgado and Genao and extend the lead to 12-6, and Escarra capped the scoring push with a line-drive triple into right that brought home Duran.
Gilberto Celestino finished 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base for the Toros.
Leones del Escogido (9-12) 3, Estrellas Orientales (10-13) 1 – On Tuesday night, Leones del Escogido relied on strong pitching and steady offense to outlast Estrellas Orientales in a hard-fought contest.
Erik González went 2-for-3 with a triple and scored two runs and Grant Gavin threw with seven scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and striking out four for the Leones.
In the top of the fourth, Héctor Rodríguez reached on a fielder’s choice to shortstop José Tena, allowing González to score. Later in the frame, Jorge Mateo lined a sharp single into left field, driving in Rodríguez.

In the top of the sixth, Rodríguez lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing home González for another RBI.
The first home run of the night came in the bottom of the eighth, when Angel Martínez launched his first homer of the season to left-center field.
Enny Romero pitched six innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts for the Estrellas in the loss.
Tigres del Licey (9-11) 3, Gigantes del Cibao (7-12) 2 – On Tuesday night, the Tigres del Licey mounted a late surge, showcasing clutch hitting and resilient pitching to get past the Gigantes del Cibao.
César Valdez pitched six innings, allowing three hits and striking out one batter for Licey.
Cal Stevenson hit his first home run of the season in the bottom of the third, a fly ball to right field in the bottom of the third that withstood the Gigantes’ challenge to give Licey a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Michael De La Cruz tripled to center field off Johan Rojas, driving in Sergio Alcántara, and Pablo Reyes followed with his first home run of the season, a line drive to left-center field, to make it 3-0.
Gustavo Núñez was out on a sacrifice fly to right fielder Diego Hernández, allowing Michael De La Cruz to score in the bottom of the seventh.
In the top of the eighth, Johan Rojas singled on a ground ball to center field, bringing home Julio Carreras.
Pablo Reyes went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, one RBI and a run scored for Cibao in the loss.
