Águilas Cibaeñas (6-1) 9,  Estrellas Orientales (4-4) 8 – Emmanuel Rodriguez powered the Águilas Cibaeñas to a 9-8 victory over the Estrellas Orientales with five RBIs.

In the bottom of the second inning, Euribiel Angeles lined a single to right fielder Emmanuel Rodriguez, driving in Rodolfo Castro.

An inning later, in the bottom of the third, Rodolfo Castro launched his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot on a deep fly ball to left field with Josh Lester and Miguel Sanó coming around to score to make it 5-0 Estrellas.

After an Águilas challenge overturned a tag play in the fourth, Rodriguez ripped his first double of the season, sending a scorching line drive to left that scored Adael Amador and Raynel Delgado to cut the Estrellas’ lead to 5-4.

Three innings later, Aderlin Rodríguez crushed his second home run of the year, a 100.5 mph drive to left-center that brought home J.C. Escarra gave the Aguilas a 6-5 lead.

Sano tied the game for the Estrellas with his second homer of the year in the bottom of the seventh, but the Aguilas took the lead back in the top of the eighth on a two-run homer from Emmanuel Rodriguez that made it 8-6.

But the Estrellas weren’t done. Raimel Tapia cut the lead to 8-7 with a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth, and an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth by Sano tied the game at nine.

In the top of the 10th, Emmanuel Rodriguez lifted a sacrifice fly to right fielder Raimel Tapia, deep enough to score Adael Amador from third and giving the Aguilas the win.

Toros del Este (3-4) 6, Tigres del Licey (4-2) 3 – The Toros del Este took down the Tigres as Bryan De La Cruz powered the offense with a grand slam.

In the top of the fourth, a wild pitch from pitcher Radhames Liz allowed Jhonkensy Noel to score, giving the Toros a 1-0 lead.

De La Cruz crushed his first grand slam of the season in the top of the seventh, sending a drive to left field with an exit velocity of 111.4 mph and sending Iván Castillo, Gilberto Celestino and Bryan Torres around to score to make it 4-1.

In the bottom of the inning, Cristhian Adames roped his third double of the season, a hard-hit liner to left fielder Bryan Torres, bringing home Yunior Severino and moving Sergio Alcántara to third to cut the Toros’ lead to 4-3.

The Toros del Este held on for a 6-3 victory over the Tigres del Licey, improving their record to 3-4 on the season.

Leones del Escogido (3-4) 1, Gigantes del Cibao (0-5) 0 (Suspended) – Wednesday night’s game was suspended during the bottom of the fourth with the score tied 1-0 as lighting problems darkened Estadio Julian Javier.

In the top of the first, Sócrates Brito singled on a line drive to left fielder Leury García, advancing Junior Lake to third and Brito to second. Lake scored when the next batter, Franchy Cordero, hit a sac fly to left, giving the Leones a 1-0 lead.

The game was delayed in the bottom of the first and again in the bottom of the third. In the bottom of the fourth, the lights went out as Escogido made a pitching change. The game was suspended with Norge Ruiz on the mound but yet to throw a pitch for Escogido, who lead 1-0, with Kelvin Gutierrez on second for the Gigantes and Carlos Franco at bat. The game will be completed on Nov. 12.
