LIDOM bringing regular season games and the Titanes del Caribe series back to the U.S. in 2025-26, with round robin action set for loanDepot Park.

The Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana will hold regular-season games in New York or Miami for the 2025-26 season, with round-robin games set to be played at loanDepot Park in Little Havana during late December and early January. The Titanes del Caribe series will also return next winter.

All sources from the 2025-26 LIDOM season on the Titanes del Caribe and the league’s round robin are located on Diario Libre, Ensegundos.do, Grandes en los Deportes, and Listin Diario, along with the report that the New York Yankees could play the Dominican Republic national team at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal in Santo Domingo before the national team travels to Miami to play in Pool D of the 2026 World Baseball Classic from March 6-11 against Israel, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and the Netherlands, as noted by Moisés Mejía at Listin Diario.

Altanto.com.do also reported that LIDOM officials are studying the possibility of holding round-robin games in Miami and are moving forward with organizing the Titanes del Caribe Series, a proposal that has conceptual support from the league’s teams.

“There’s a possibility of playing at least two round-robin games in Miami,” said LIDOM President Vitelio Mejía during a July 3 press conference. “But that hasn’t been added to the calendar yet because we’re not at that stage.”

Mejía also praised the Dominican Republic’s successful hosting of the 2022 Caribbean Series at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.

Multiple reports out of the Dominican Republic indicate that the Gigantes del Cibao and Águilas Cibaeñas will face off in the 2025-26 edition of the Titanes del Caribe series.

La Musica Presentar and La Mega 97.9 served as primary sponsors for the 2023 and 2024 Titanes del Caribe events, which were promoted by Latin Events, operated by Félix Cabrera (founder of Félix Cabrera Presents) and Pedro Zamora (founder of Zamora Live). Both regularly host music events across Latin American communities in the United States.

In 2023, the Titanes del Caribe drew 90,902 fans over three games at Citi Field. The 2024 event was originally scheduled for Yankee Stadium but was canceled due to the $2 million cost of leasing the venue. The Tigres del Licey and Águilas Cibaeñas were slated to play on November 8-9 in the Bronx.

Promoters announced on October 22, 2024, that all tickets for Yankee Stadium would be refunded. The games were moved to Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and one game was held at Citi Field earlier in November.

On November 10, 2024, Citi Field hosted the final Titanes del Caribe event of the year, which featured 13 artists, including Arcángel, Raulin Rodríguez, Fernandito Villalona, Ala Jaza, Toño Rosario, Bullin 47, Zacarias Ferreira, Secreto, Alex Sensation, DJ Adoni, DJ Aneudy, Wason Brazoban, and Rubby Pérez. Dominican MLB stars such as Hall of Famer David Ortiz, Juan Soto, and Nelson Cruz were in attendance.

The Águilas Cibaeñas swept the Tigres del Licey at Citi Field in the 2023 Titanes del Caribe series. The games did not count toward the LIDOM regular season standings in either 2023 or 2024.

The Tigres del Licey, based in Santo Domingo, are the reigning LIDOM champions. Known as “El Glorioso,” they have won 24 LIDOM titles and 11 Caribbean Series championships since their founding in 1907. Licey reached the Caribbean Series final in both 2023 and 2024—defeating Leones del Caracas in 2023 in Venezuela and falling to the Tiburones de La Guaira in 2024 in Miami.

The Águilas Cibaeñas, based in Santiago de los Caballeros, have won 22 LIDOM titles and six Caribbean Series crowns, most recently in 2021 in Mazatlán, Mexico, where they beat Puerto Rico’s Criollos de Caguas.

All regular season LIDOM games for the 2024-25 season will stream live on MLB.TV with a paid subscription through the conclusion of the league’s championship series in January.

Other Winter League Events at loanDepot Park

The Miami Marlins confirmed that loanDepot Park will host the Caribbean Series again in 2028, 2029, and 2030, following the record-setting return in 2024.

In November 2024, loanDepot Park also hosted the Choques de Gigantes event featuring the Navegantes del Magallanes, Cardenales de Lara, and Leones del Caracas (Venezuela), the Cangrejeros de Santurce and Criollos de Caguas (Puerto Rico), and the Estrellas Orientales (Dominican Republic).

The first winter club event hosted by the Marlins was the Serie de las Américas in 2015. That tournament featured the Navegantes del Magallanes and Cardenales de Lara from Venezuela, as well as the Tigres del Licey and Águilas Cibaeñas from the Dominican Republic.
