Gigantes del Cibao (12-16) 12, Toros del Este (14-15) 3 – On Friday night, the Gigantes del Cibao unleashed a relentless offensive surge that overwhelmed the Toros del Este from the opening inning to the final out.
Nomar Mazara went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, two RBIs and a run scored; Johan Rojas finished 2-for-3 with an HBP, an RBI and three runs scored; and Yermín Mercedes added a 2-for-4 night with a double, a walk and two runs scored.
Deyvison De Los Santos lined an RBI single to center, bringing Rojas home in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the second, the Toros challenged a play at first base, but the call on the field was upheld as Rojas singled on a ground ball to third baseman Jeimer Candelario, allowing José Torres to score. Marco Hernández followed with a single up the middle to center fielder Gilberto Celestino to drive in Melvin Mercedes, and Samad Taylor capped the frame by launching his first homer of the game, a fly ball to left field that plated De Los Santos and Mazara for an 8-0 Gigantes lead.

Frank Rodriguez jumped on a pitch and blasted his first homer of the game, a towering shot to right-center field in the bottom of the third.
Manuel Peña added to the offense with his second homer of the game, a soaring drive to right field, and Mazara later doubled down the right-field line to Bryan De La Cruz to score Hernández in the bottom of the fifth.

Mel Rojas Jr. finished 2-for-3 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored and Gustavo Núñez added a 2-for-5 performance with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
In the top of the first, Taveras ripped a line-drive double to left field, bringing Steward Berroa home for a 1-0 Aguilas lead.
In the bottom of the first, Mel Rojas Jr. grounded a single into center field to drive in Cal Stevenson and Cristhian Adames, and José Rodríguez followed with a sharp ground-ball double to left fielder Rojas, bringing Ezequiel Durán home. David Hensley then singled home Rojas for a 4-1 Licey lead.
Later, Rojas Jr. lined a single to left field, driving in Gustavo Núñez and Cristhian Adames in the bottom of the fifth, and Hensley again singled home Rojas.
In the top of the eighth, Alberto Rodríguez ripped a sharp ground-ball double to right fielder Cal Stevenson, driving in Ángel Genao and Leody Taveras.
