In the bottom of the first inning, Junior Pérez lined a two-run single to second base to drive in Robinson Canó and Euribiel Angeles, and in the fourth, Francisco Peña added an RBI single to center field that scored Josh Lester to give the Estrellas a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth, Alfredo Reyes grounded a single back to pitcher Enny Romero, bringing home Raynel Delgado to cut the lead to 3-1. An inning later, Adael Amador launched his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to right-center field that brought home Angel Genao in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game. Genao scored one run and three hits in the game.
Gigantes del Cibao (1-5) 2, Leones del Escogido (3-5) 1 – The Gigantes and Leones played a doubleheader Wednesday, caused by the impact of Hurricane Melissa. Wily Peralta pitched seven innings for the Gigantes, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four in the late game.
In the top of the first, Franchy Cordero hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Junior Lake for a 1-0 Escogido lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Carlos Franco singled to center field and drove in Kelvin Gutiérrez to tie the game.
Leury García hit a sharp ground ball off Ruiz that was fielded cleanly by second baseman César Prieto, who threw to first baseman Yamaico Navarro for the out, ending the at-bat in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the fifth, Leury Garcia singled to center field, and Junior Lake cleanly fielded the ball and threw home to get Carlos Jorge trying to score. After Jorge was called out by home plate umpire Natanael Rodriguez Garcia, the call was reviewed and overturned, giving the Leones a 2-1 lead.

Leones del Escogido (8-10) 5, Gigantes del Cibao (6-10) 3 – Franchy Cordero powered the Gigantes’ offense with a home run, three RBIs, and a run scored, while pitcher Grant Gavin allowed five hits and struck out five over five innings and Junior Lake added two runs and four hits.
In the top of the third inning, Héctor Rodríguez singled on a ground ball to shortstop José Torres, driving in Gio Urshela to give Escogido a 1-0 lead. Cordero then blasted his third home run of the season, a three-run shot to right-center field that drove in Héctor Rodríguez and Erik González.
