Toros de Tijuana (41-19) 4, Acereros de Monclova (31-30) 3 (10 Innings) – Franchy Cordero drove in Junior Lake with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning to put the Toros ahead for good and give them an eight-game lead in the Zona Norte. Cordero also hit a solo homer in the fourth and went 2-for-4 for the Toros. It was the seventh loss in 10 games for Monclova, which got six inning from starter Wilmer Rios, who allowed two runs on seven hits, striking out six.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (39-22) 10, Guerreros de Oaxaca (33-28) 7 – Doubles from Jon Singleton and Juan Carlos Gamboa and singles from Franklin Barreto and Carlos Perez helped get six runs home for the Diablos in the top of the sixth as they took the series opener in Estadio Yu’va in Oaxaca. Gamboa went 3-for-5 with four RBIs while serving as the No. 9 hitter for the Diablos, and Julian Ornelas hit a solo homer in the second. Juan Santana hit a two-run homer for the Guerreros in the first and Aristides Aquino hit a solo shot in the fourth.
