Diablos Rojos del Mexico (15-12) 15, Tigres de Quintana Roo (11-16) 7 – The Diablos won their third straight, scoring 15 runs to sweep their long-time rival without hitting a homer in the series finale. Carlos Perez went 3-for-5 with two singles, a double, and five RBIs, while Jon Singleton went 1-for-3 with three walks and scored three times for the Reds. Diego Madera hit a mostly meaningless homer in the ninth for Quintana Roo.

Caliente de Durango (14-13) 11, Rieleros de Aguascalientes (13-14) 7 – Marek Chlup went 3-for-4 in his second appearance for Durango, hitting a double, scoring a run and driving in three more, and the Caliente score five runs in the bottom of the eighth to sweep Aguascalientes. Amilcar Gomez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs for the Rieleros.

Sultanes de Monterrey (18-9) 3, Algodoneros de Union Laguna (11-16) 1 – Gustavo Nunez singled home Raimel Tapia with the tying run in the bottom of the seventh, and Javier Salazar followed with a double, getting Ismael Alcantara home with the winner for the Sultanes, who are a game and a half back of Tijuana. Union Laguna’s lone run came in the top of the first when Albert Lara scored on a wild pitch.

Bravos de Leon (16-11) 10, Conspiradores de Queretaro (12-15) 7 – Gaige Howard opened the scoring with a two-run single in the first and Jimmy Kerrigan hit a grand slam  in the second and went 2-for-5 with five RBIs as the Bravos won to stay a game off the pace in the Zona Sur.

Olmecas de Tabasco (14-13) 9, Piratas de Campeche (11-16) 1 – With their eighth win in their last 10 games, the Olmecas climbed above .500 for the first time this season, and it’s safe to say they’ve turned the season around. Domingo Leyba hit a two-run homer in the third and singled home another run in the fourth. Starter Austin Warner allowed one run on five hits in five innings of work for Tabasco, walking one and striking out four, and Carlos Arrellano hit a solo homer in the ninth to cap the win.

Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (15-12) 3, Dorados de Chihuahua (8-18) 1 – The Tecos swept their second straight series, taking their sixth straight win behind a stellar effort from the bullpen, which saw five pitchers combine to allow one run on one hit and one walk over 5 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts. Cade Gotta’s three-run triple in the bottom of the eighth got all of the Tecos’ runs home.

Guerreros de Oaxaca (17-10) 7, Leones de Yucatan (9-18) 2 – Juniel Querecuto went 3-for-5 with a homer, scoring twice and driving in two runs, and Mel Rojas Jr. added a solo homer as the Guerreros swept the listless Leones. Starter Matt Givin allowed two runs on five hits in five innings, walking three and striking out three for Oaxaca.

Pericos de Puebla (17-10) 3, El Aguila de Veracruz (13-14) 2 – Miguel Guzman hit a sac fly to drive in David Rodriguez in the fourth and then singled home Moises Gomez with what would stand as the game-winner in the sixth. Antonio Santos threw six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out eight for the Pericos, while Dinelson Lamet threw six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks, striking out four for Veracruz.

Charros de Jalisco (15-12) 9, Acereros de Monclova (13-14) 6 – The Acereros pounded away in the bottom of the seventh, erasing a six-run deficit with a big inning, tying the game on a three-run homer by Rodolfo Amador, but the Charros answered, getting three runs in the top of the ninth on an two-run single from Josh Fuentes and an RBI double by Irving Lopez. Michael Wielansky hit a two-run homer for Jalisco.

Toros de Tijuana (19-7) 5, Saraperos de Saltillo (8-18) 1 – Justin Turner capped a five-run fifth inning with a two-run single as the Toros won for the ninth time in 10 games, maintaining a 1 1/2-game lead in the Zona Norte.
