Liga Mexicana de Beisbol: Yadir Drake’s 10th Inning Dinger Gives Yucatan 5-3 Win; Saraperos, Olmecas Each Lose Fourth Straight

Guerreros de Oaxaca (6-2) 8, Olmecas de Tabasco (1-7) 6 – Radhames Liz allowed a hit and a walk over six scoreless innings, but the Guerreros bullpen let the Olmecas back in the game, allowing six runs over the final two innings before Joey Krehbiel closed out the win. Juniel Querecuto went 2-for-4 and scored twice for Oaxaca. Jacob Rhinesmith homered for Tabasco in the Olmecas’ fourth consecutive loss.

Bravos de Leon (6-2) 9, Tigres de Quintana Roo (5-3) 2 – Gaige Howard went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, two RBIs, and Jimmy Kerrigan drove in runs with a sac fly in the fifth and a double in the seventh as the Bravos took their sixth win of the season. Quintana Roo mustered just five hits in the game; two of them were solo homers, one by Miles Simington in the first and another by Diego Madera in the ninth.

Dorados de Chihuahua (4-4) 11, Sultanes de Monterrey (6-2) 3 – Four runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings pushed the Dorados past the Sultanes on Saturday night. Andrelton Simmons hit a three-run homer in the sixth and RBI singles from Alejandro Mejia, Jonathan Schoop, and Rusber Estrada powered the offense in the seventh. Josh Lester and Socrates Brito each homered for Monterrey.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (4-4) 12, Conspiradores de Queretaro (3-5) 9 – Franklin Barreto went 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored, and seven RBIs, hitting a three-run homer in the second, drawing a bases-loaded walk in the third, knocking a two-run single in the fifth, and driving in another with a sac fly in the eighth as the Diablos got back to .500.

Caliente de Durango (4-4) 8, Charros de Jalisco (4-4) 6 – Jonathan Villar went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and four RBIs as the Caliente got hot against Jalisco. Juan Uriarte added a two-run homer of his own for Durango. Allen Cordoba homered for the second straight game for Jalisco.

Pericos de Puebla (2-6) 10, Piratas de Campeche (4-4) 5 – Cristhian Adames hit a solo homer in the first, and Moises Gomez homered twice, hitting a two-run shot in the third and a solo homer in the fifth as the Pericos doubled up Campeche. The Piratas got a two-run homer from Alejandro Flores and solo homers from Connor Hollis and Fernando Perez, but that was the whole of their offense.

Algodoneros de Union Laguna (3-5) 7, Rieleros de Aguascalientes (4-4) 0 – Six Algodoneros pitchers combined to hold the Rieleros to just three hits and three walks, and Diego Castillo went 3-for-5 with three RBIs as Union Laguna won its second straight game.

Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (4-4) 4, Saraperos de Saltillo (1-6) 3 – Starter Nate Antone allowed two runs over five innings for the Tecos and Harold Ramirez went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and homered for the first time this season as Dos Laredos handed Saltillo its fourth straight loss.

Leones de Yucatan (4-4) 5, El Aguila de Veracruz (5-3) 3 – Starter Ronnie Williams allowed a run on four hits and struck out two over five innings, and Yadir Drake’s third homer of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the 10th, sent the Yucatan fans home happy. Drake went 3-for-5 and scored twice in the game for the Leones.

Acereros de Monclova (4-4) 8, Toros de Tijuana (5-2) 5 – Santiago Chavez hit a solo homer in the second and Alan Trejo hit a three-run shot as the Acereros scored seven in the third to get back to .500. Veteran starter David Reyes had a rare rough outing for Tijuana, allowing eight runs, six of them earned, on six hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
