On October 23, Florida State Athletics announced that head baseball coach Link Jarrett would have his contract restructured.

Now, according to Baseball America, the terms of Jarrett’s contract have changed. The Florida State head coach is now making $2.1 million on average per season.

This officially makes Jarrett the fifth highest-paid coach in college baseball. The four coaches who are ahead of him are LSU’s Jay Johnson, Mississippi State’s Brian O’Connor, Vanderbilt’s Tim Corbin, and Texas’ Jim Schlossnagle.

He falls into the top five because of former Tennessee coach Tony Vitello heading to Major League Baseball to coach the San Francisco Giants.

Jarrett and his Coaching Career at Florida State

Jarrett has been the head coach of Florida State for three seasons. He has accumulated 114 total wins.

In 2024, he led the Seminoles to the College World Series. That was Florida State’s first appearance in Omaha since 2019.

In 2025, Florida State once again had a great season under Jarrett’s coaching. The Seminoles won 42 games and finished second in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

The Seminoles made it all the way to a super regional in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Jarrett as a Player for the Seminoles

Before his coaching career, Jarrett played at Florida State under the legendary college baseball coach Mike Martin.

In 1993 and 1994, he was an All-American shortstop who helped lead the Seminoles to three appearances in the College World Series.

Jarrett was a great fielder. He still holds the NCAA all-time career assists record with 802.
