Little League World Series LIVE Blog: Team Japan Flexing Their Muscle over Puerto Rico

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – 

Japan vs. Puerto Rico

Japan jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first.

Puerto Rico used two pitchers to get out of the inning.

Japan pitcher Kanta Iwashita sat the top of the Puerto Rico lineup down in order.

5-0 end of first inning.

Top of the second, Puerto Rico works out of a jam to keep the score the same.

Bottom second, Iwashita picks up three more K’s.

5-0 end of second.

Left fielder Kanata Furuyama comes around to score on a series of passed balls after a leadoff walk. 6-0 Japan.

Catcher Tomoki Watanabe comes around to score on another passed ball after reaching on an error. Things look bleak for Puerto Rico. 7-0 Japan.

Pitching change, Joaxiel Rolon takes the mound for Puerto Rico with a man on first base.

Pitcher Kanta Iwashita hits a deep shot to center field to make the score 9-0 Japan.

After two errors and a passed ball scored two more runs, Puerto Rico gets out of the inning. 11-0 Japan.

Japan gets out of the bottom of the third unscathed.

11-0 Japan after four.

Iwashita gets Puerto Rico out in order to end the game via the mercy rule.
