Little Rock Trojans Heading to First Super Regional in Program History

On Sunday, May 31, the Little Rock Trojans defeated the Jacksonville State Gamecocks 6-3 to win the Hattiesburg regional championship. As a result, the Trojans are heading to their first-ever super regional in program history.

Little Rock swept their way through the Hattiesburg regional at Pete Taylor Park as the regional’s four seed. They defeated the regional’s host, Southern Miss, 7-4 to open their NCAA Tournament run. Then, back-to-back wins over Jacksonville State granted them a spot in the 2026 NCAA Tournament’s second weekend.

Little Rock’s tournament success during 2025 and 2026

The Trojans have been very competitive in the NCAA Tournament during the 2025 and 2026 college baseball seasons.

In 2025, the Trojans made it to the Baton Rouge regional. They won three games at Alex Box Stadium and took the LSU Tigers down to the wire in the regional final. LSU had to play Little Rock twice in the regional final to advance to the super regional round. The Tigers eventually went on to win the 2025 national championship.

In 2026, the Trojans have also won three NCAA Tournament games, making them 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament in the past two seasons.

Little Rock has also won back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament titles to make back-to-back NCAA Tournaments. In 2025, the Trojans were 8-16 in OVC play. However, they were a lot better in conference play in 2026. The Trojans finished with a 16-11 record against OVC teams.

Up next for Little Rock

The Little Rock Trojans will await the winner of the Gainesville regional final to see who they will play in a super regional this upcoming weekend.

The Florida Gators and Troy Trojans are playing in the second game of the Gainesville regional final on Monday, June 1. The winner moves on to play Little Rock, and the loser is eliminated. The first pitch for that game at Condron Family Ballpark is at 6 p.m. ET. The game is on the SEC Network.
