LMB: Aderlin Rodriguez Homers His Way to Comeback Player of the Year

Dominican infielder and outfielder Aderlin Rodriguez was voted the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol’s 2025 Comeback Player of the Year on Friday.

Rodriguez split the season between the Bravos de Leon, where he hit .351 with 16 home runs and 31 RBIs in 35 games, and the Toros de Tijuana, where he hit five homers in his first five games and batted .326 in 54 games with 19 home runs and 65 RBIs. The Santo Domingo native led the LMB in home runs with 35, finished second in RBIs with 96, and was second in slugging percentage at .696, fourth in doubles with 30, fifth in runs scored (80), fifth in OPS (1.065) and seventh in hits with 126.

In 2024, Rodriguez played 46 games with Tijuana, batting .216 with 10 homers and 25 RBIs. In three seasons in the LMB, Rodriguez has batted .304/.359/.619 with 70 homers and 198 RBIs in 213 games.

He won the award by a vote of the LMB’s 2025 Special Nominations Electoral Committee, comprised of members of the league’s general managers, coaching staffs, reporters, press officers, and community managers from each of the 20 LMB teams, as well as local media outlets from the 20 cities and national media outlets in Mexico.

Aderlín Rodríguez defeated Orlando Lara of El Águila de Veracruz, Ricky Álvarez of the Caliente de Durango, Rodolfo Amador of the Acereros de Monclova, Yangervis Solarte of El Águila de Veracruz and the Leones de Yucatan, Esteban Quiroz of the Sultanes de Monterrey, Samar Leyva of the Pericos de Puebla, Alejandro Flores of the Conspiradores de Queretaro, Alonso Gaitán of Durango and Tijuana, and Michael Feliz of Yucatan.
