Piratas de Campeche 15, Guerreros de Oaxaca 5 – Five different Piratas clubbed homers as Campeche romped to a 15-5 win in game seven to advance to the Serie Campeonato in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol’s Zona Sur.
Cal Mitchell got Campeche on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the third, and a two-run homer later in the inning by Francisco Pena gave the Piratas a 4-3 lead.
Felix Perez hit his playoff-leading eighth homer of the postseason, a solo shot in the top of the seventh, Jesus Fabela added a three-run homer in the eighth, and Chris Carter’s solo homer in the ninth capped a big night for the Piratas.
Fabela, Pena, and Perez each went 3-for-5, with Fabela notching four RBIs, Pena getting two, and Perez netting one.
Campeche advances to the Serie Campeonato against the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, which begins Saturday night in Mexico City at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu.
Algodoneros de Union Laguna 6, Charros de Jalisco 4 – Hendrik Clementina’s game-ending two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth sent the crowd at Estadio de la Revolucion into a frenzy, giving the Algodoneros a dramatic win in game six and new life in the playoffs.
The homer was Clementina’s fifth of the playoffs, and came off Charros closer Trevor Clifton.

Mateo Gil got the Charros out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first with his fourth homer of the playoffs, but the Algodoneros chipped away at the lead, getting a solo homer from Nicolas Torres in the bottom of the first and an RBI double from Jonathan Villar in the second to cut the lead to 3-2.
Willie Calhoun extended the Charros’ lead with an RBI single to right in the fifth to make it 4-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, Brian O’Grady launched a 2-0 fastball from Andrew Perez into the Torreon night to tie the game at four apiece.
Three innings later, Clementina delivered the heroics.
With the win, the teams will meet Friday night at Estadio de la Revolucion for game seven, with Luis Payan starting for Jalisco against Union Laguna’s Travis Lakins Sr.
The winner of game seven will advance to face the Sultanes de Monterrey in the Serie Campeonato, which will begin Sunday in either Torreon or Guadalajara.
