The Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol have named Jorge del Valle Mohar as the organization’s new executive president.
The club announced the move at a press conference at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu in Mexico City on Monday. Del Valle replaces Dr. Othón Díaz Valenzuela, who served as executive president of the Diablos Rojos organization since 2016 and won four championships in his term — two LMB titles, and a softball title for the Diablos Rojos Femenil and Diablos Rojos Basquetbol championship in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional in 2024.
“It is a very special day for the Diablos Rojos del México organization, because today, we recognize and bid farewell to Othón Díaz Valenzuela, who for ten years has been president of the best team in Mexican baseball,” board member Santiago Harp said at the press conference. “Since his arrival, he has looked after the interests of the organization and initiated a great change. Now it is time to open a new chapter in which we announce the arrival of Jorge del Valle as Executive President.”
Del Valle has a degree in sports administration from the Universidad del Valle de México and was part of Mexico’s staff of the 2011 Guadalajara Pan American Games and the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games.
From 2016-17, he was the general coordinator of the Estadio Fray Nano, the then-home of the Diablos Rojos. In January 2017, he became the Director of the Alfredo Harp Helú Baseball Academy in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, and also serves as the development manager for the Diablos Rojos del México and Guerreros de Oaxaca. In February 2021, he was appointed general manager of the Diablos Rojos del México, later becoming the team’s vice president.
