Guerreros de Oaxaca 7, Conspiradores de Queretaro 6 – Roberto Ramos launched a solo home run to right center field in the bottom of the ninth that ended the Conspiradores’ storybook inaugural season in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol.

The solo shot gave the Guerreros a series sweep and ended the year for the Queretaro, which became just the sixth expansion club to advance to the LMB playoffs in their first year.

After falling behind in the top of the fourth when a two-run homer by Queretaro’s Kelvin Gutierrez and a three-run shot by Alen Hanson gave the Conspiradores a 6-3 lead, Oaxaca battled back with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Yariel Gonzalez’ second homer of the playoffs, a solo shot to left, and a two-run double by Ricardo Valenzuela evened the score.

With a 1-0 count and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Queretaro’s Ofreidy Gomez left a fastball over the middle of the plate and Ramos sent it over the wall for the series win.

Oaxaca will now wait to face the winner of the series between the Diablos Rojos del Mexico and the Leones de Yucatan.

Acereros de Monclova 4, Sultanes de Monterrey 2 – The Acereros scored four times in the top of the first and held on to force a deciding game seven in the Serie del Zona against Monterrey.

Juan Perez hit a solo homer, Ramon Hernandez scooted home on a passed ball by Monterrey catcher Jonathan Morales, and Odubel Herrera’s two-run single scored Balbino Fuenmayor and Addison Russell, giving Monclova all the runs they’d need.

Jorge Tavarez threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and striking out five, while four Monclova relievers combined to allow two hits and three walks over the final 3 2/3 innings.

The winner of game seven, which will be played at 9:30 p.m. EDT at Estadio Exxon Mobil Super in Monterrey, will face the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos in the Serie Campeonato. Steven Moyers will start for Monclova against Tyler Viza for Monterrey.

Game Four In Yucatan Rained Out – Game four in the series between the Diablos Rojos del Mexico and the Leones de Yucatan was rained out Tuesday night.

It has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EDT at Estadio Victor Cervera Pacheco, with Jose Luis Bravo expected to start for the Diablos Rojos against Felix Doubront for the Leones.
