Guerreros de Oaxaca 15, Piratas de Campeche 1 – Guerreros starter Radhames Liz allowed a solo homer in the first to Campeche’s Cal Mitchell, but that was the only offense the Piratas could muster in game one.

The Guerreros walloped Campeche, scoring all 15 runs in the first five innings and cruising to an easy win in game one.

Emilio Bonifacio hit a three-run homer and Jorge Flores hit a two-run shot in the seven-run third inning for Oaxaca, and Leo German hit a solo homer in the fifth. Five different Guerreros had at least two RBIs, and seven Oaxaca batters had multi-hit games.

Five pitchers for Oaxaca combined to allow one run on nine hits and three walks, with the homer Liz allowed to Mitchell the only blemish. Liz went five innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts to earn the win.

Alemao Hernandez will start game two for Oaxaca against Miller Hogan for Campeche tonight at 9 p.m. EDT.

Sultanes de Monterrey 11, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos 2 – Tecos starter Nate Antone gave up five runs on nine hits in 2 2/3 innings, and Dos Laredos was never able to recover, dropping a lopsided game one to Monterrey at Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, Texas.

Victor Mendoza had an RBI single in the third, Ramiro Pena hit an RBI double two batters later, and Donovan Casey’s two-run double capped a four-run third for the Sultanes that ended Antone’s night and put the Sultanes in the lead for good.

Starter Nolan Kingham went five innings for Monterrey, allowing one run on five hits and five walks, while the bullpen shut down the Tecos, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over the final four innings.

Manny Banuelos will start game two for Monterrey against Dos Laredos’ Daniel Mengden tonight at 9 p.m. EDT at Parque La Junta in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico 7, Pericos de Puebla 2 – A six-run fifth inning powered the Diablos Rojos past Zona Sur rival Puebla in game one of their second round playoff series.

Julian Ornelas had an RBI single, Robinson Cano and Carlos Sepulveda each had RBI doubles, and Juan Carlos Gamboa hit a two-run triple in the Diablos big inning.

Brooks Hall allowed two runs on five hits over five innings for the Reds, and four pitchers from the Mexico bullpen allowed two hits and a walk over the final four innings.

Yolmer Camacho will start game two for Puebla against Ricardo Pinto for the Diablos at 9 p.m. EDT Thursday.

Charros de Jalisco 9, Algodoneros de Union Laguna 3 – Mateo Gil went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and Willie Calhoun went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the first and a two-run homer in the fourth as the Charros took game one from Union Laguna.

Zac Grotz struck out five and allowed two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings for Benji Gil’s Charros, and the bullpen allowed just one run on two hits and three walks.

Game two is Thursday night, with Jalisco’s Luis Ivan Rodriguez facing Union Laguna’s Jaime Barria.
