Conspiradores de Queretaro 4, El Aguila de Veracruz 2 – A three-run second inning gave Queretaro a lead they would never relinquish, as the Conspiradores eliminated El Aguila de Veracruz with a four games to one series victory Friday night.

Alen Hanson had RBI singles in the second and fourth innings, and Queretaro starter Andy Otero scattered five hits across five scoreless innings, walking one and striking out two to earn the victory.

The two Veracruz runs came on a solo homer by Carlos Franco in the bottom of the sixth and a sacrifice fly by Herlis Rodriguez in the seventh.

Queretaro will return to action on August 14, when the second round of the Zona Sur playoffs begins.

Pericos de Puebla 6, Diablos Rojos del Mexico 4 – RBI singles from Julian Ornelas and Jose Rondon in the top of the ninth started a rally, but the Diablos Rojos were unable to come all the way back to burn the Pericos de Puebla, who were able to avoid the sweep with a win in game four.

Danny Ortiz hit a three-run homer in the third for Puebla, and Christhian Adames hit a three-run triple in the fourth to get the Pericos out to a 6-1 lead.

Vladimir Gutierrez threw seven shutout innings, allowing one run on four hits with six strikeouts, walking none, to earn the win for Puebla.

Game five is schedule for Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. EDT. Neither team has announced a starting pitcher.

Guerreros de Oaxaca 9, Leones de Yucatan 6 – A six-run third inning helped Oaxaca take a 3-0 series lead over Yucatan, who scratched out 14 hits but managed just six runs Friday night.

In the third, a pair of RBI doubles, one from Alexi Amarista and one from Reynaldo Rodriguez, along with RBI singles from Juniel Querecuto and Yariel Gonzalez, helped push Oaxaca to an early 7-1 lead.

Amarista and Querecuto each contributed a home run, with Amarista hitting a solo shot in the first and Querecuto hitting one of his own in the fifth.

Game six is scheduled for Sunday at 8:05 p.m. EDT. Starting pitchers have yet to be announced.
