London Mets Win Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifiers Championship in Norway

The London Mets won the Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifiers Championship in Norway.They will be elevated to the Baseball European Federation Cup in 2026, the third-tier tournament in Europe. 

The Mets were undefeated in the tournament and took down Kaunas County of Lithuania in the final, 12-5. The Mets’ offense was the biggest story of the tournament as they scored 52 runs in five games. They had a .319 average and 19 of their 45 hits went for extra bases. 

Ryan McLaughlin was named tournament MVP. He went 4-for-14 with two home runs and eight RBIs. Mets pitcher Mitsuhiro Watanabe was named the best pitcher in the tournament. The Mets starter made two starts and struck out 15 batters. He had a 1.20 ERA and was key in the Mets’ victory. 

The Mets, along with Angels Trnava Baseball, will be promoted to the Baseball European Federation Cup in 2026. They will take the place of the winners of the two 2025 Baseball European Federation Cup groups. Those teams will join the Baseball European Cup in 2026.
