Lorenzo Bundy Reflects on Diablos Rojos Legacy and LMB All-Star Weekend in Mexico City

Mexico City –  During All-Star Weekend in Mexico City, Diablos Rojos del México manager Lorenzo Bundy spoke with World Baseball Network about more than just on-field performance. With the 2025 Liga Mexicana de Beisbol All-Star Game hosted at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú and the league celebrating its 100th anniversary, Bundy reflected on the moment’s meaning—and the Diablos’ 85-year legacy.

Bundy managed the import squad during the weekend’s festivities and was especially impressed by the talent assembled. But he was also quick to shine a spotlight on his own team’s lineup depth, singling out catcher Julián Mejía, who has quietly emerged as one of the league’s top run producers out of the nine-hole.

“Our offense has always been pretty potent,” Bundy said. “The big thing is our lineup is deep. Our number nine hitter, Mejía—our catcher—is hitting .350 with 45, 50 RBIs. Those guys are responsible for turning the lineup over for Robinson Canó, Ellis, and the rest of the company.”

“It’s perfect,” Bundy said. “It’s the 100th anniversary of the league. It’s also the 85th anniversary of the Diablos, and we’ve got 17 championships. That’s not 17 in 100 years—that’s 17 in 85.”

That attention to detail isn’t just reserved for baseball. The Diablos Rojos organization has seen success across multiple sports, including recent championships in men’s basketball, women’s softball, and the Baseball Champions League. Bundy credited that excellence to the entire structure behind the scenes.

“It shows the consistency. It shows the hard work—not just from the players, but everyone behind the scenes,” Bundy said. “You saw staff from media, telemarketing, and the front office getting recognized too. It’s a corporation that’s growing every day. I saw a video of people in Europe wearing Diablos Rojos shirts and hats. It’s a universal organization now.”
