On Thursday, the Louisville Cardinals revealed their 2025 fall exhibition games.

The team will play two games in the fall. First, on September 27, they will face off against the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames. The Cardinals will travel to Chicago for that exhibition matchup. The first pitch for that matchup is scheduled for noon EDT.

Then, on October 3, they will play the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at home in Jim Patterson Stadium. That game has the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT.

Breaking Down UIC and Eastern Kentucky – In 2025, the UIC Flames finished the season 22-33 overall. However, they played well in conference play with a 16-11 record against Missouri Valley Conference teams.

The Flames finished fourth in the conference standings.

They made a solid run in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament as they defeated Southern Illinois and Missouri State in their first two games.

However, their season would come to an end with losses to Murray State and Missouri State when the two teams faced off for a second time.

UIC played Louisville this past season in a weekend series lasting from March 7-9. The Cardinals swept the Flames, outscoring them 28-7 across all three games that were played.

The 2025 season was not a kind one for Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels finished 11-44 overall and were 8-22 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

Eastern Kentucky played Louisville in a midweek matchup this past season on April 29. The Cardinals won that game 11-5

Louisville’s College World Series Season in 2025 – In 2025, the Louisville Cardinals made it to the College World Series for the sixth time in program history.

They won two games in Omaha against the Arizona Wildcats and Oregon State Beavers before being knocked out by Coastal Carolina.

The Cardinals finished the season with a 42-14 overall record. They were 15-15 in ACC play.
