LSU and Miami Add Big-Time Pitchers in the Transfer Portal

The LSU Tigers and Miami Hurricanes have made some big additions in the transfer portal by acquiring some pitching talent.

Both teams had great 2025 seasons. Miami went to a super regional for the first time since 2016. LSU won its eighth national championship and second one in three seasons.

FIU’s Easton Marks Commits to Miami

Florida International’s Easton Marks is staying in the Miami area and transferring to play for the Hurricanes next year.

In 2025, the Panthers’ starter was named first-team All-Conference USA. He had a 3.57 ERA in 13 starts and 63 innings of work. Over that same stretch, he had 68 strikeouts while allowing an opposing batting average of .229.

Marks’ best moment of the season came when he had a nine-strikeout performance against Delaware State back on Feb. 22. He got nine strikeouts during 3 2/3 innings of work while allowing only one hit.

North Dakota State’s Danny Lachenmayer Commits to LSU

The LSU Tigers picked up a commitment from North Dakota State’s Danny Lachenmayer fresh off winning the 2025 national championship.

While pitching for the Bison in 2025, Lachenmayer finished with a 2.37 ERA in 38 innings. He racked up 56 strikeouts while walking only 18 batters. He also allowed an opposing batting average of .192.

Lachenmayer also led The Summit League in saves with nine.

The talented reliever’s great 2025 season earned him some individual accolades as well. He was the relief pitcher named to The Summit League’s all-conference first team.
