BATON ROUGE TO THE WHITE HOUSE — OCTOBER 20, 2025
The 2025 NCAA national champion LSU Tigers were honored at the White House on Monday, October 20, in a ceremony hosted by President Donald Trump, recognizing their College World Series victory and the team’s place atop college baseball once again.
The event also included the LSU–Shreveport Pilots, the 2025 NAIA national champions, who completed an undefeated 59–0 season — one of the most remarkable campaigns in the history of college baseball. Together, the two Louisiana programs gave the state an unprecedented double celebration on the national stage. Players, coaches, and staff from both programs gathered on the South Lawn as President Trump congratulated the Tigers for their performance and legacy of excellence.

Head coach Jay Johnson, in his fourth season at LSU, guided the program to a 53–15 record and its eighth national title, defeating Coastal Carolina in the College World Series Finals. Johnson, who also won in 2023, has now delivered two championships in three years — placing LSU alongside the most dominant programs in the history of NCAA baseball.
The Tigers arrived in Washington on Sunday and toured the U.S. Capitol before attending the afternoon ceremony. The event streamed live on the official White House website and drew national media attention as one of the first collegiate team visits during Trump’s current term.
LSU’s Legacy Continues

The ceremony underscored LSU’s enduring national presence. Since the program’s founding in 1893, the Tigers have appeared in 20 College World Series and produced 88 Major League players, including Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews, who were selected first and second overall in the 2023 MLB Draft.
For the players and coaching staff, Monday’s visit was both a celebration and a reminder of LSU’s role in the broader reach of American baseball — a program that continues to represent the state, the SEC, and the sport at its highest level.
