This weekend, left-handed pitcher Kade Luker announced his commitment to LSU. He plays for Cedar Creek High School in Ruston.
According to Bleacher Talk Baseball on Instagram, the class of 2027 prospect is the top-ranked southpaw from the state of Louisiana. He is also a top 100 player nationally.
Luker is also a top-ranked lefty on a national scale as he ranks eighth overall.
The left-handed pitching prospect joins LSU’s 2027 recruiting class which is full of other top prospects, such as outfielder Jordin Griffin and shortstop Ricky Lopez.
According to Perfect Game, LSU’s 2027 high school recruiting class that Luker is a part of is currently ranked number three in the country. Only the Texas Longhorns and Tennessee Volunteers are ranked higher in the 2027 cycle.
Out of the seven high school commitments the Tigers have in the 2027 class, three of which are top 100 recruits. Luker is one of those three.
LSU has also recruited well in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting cycles as well. The Tigers’ 2025 high school class ranks sixth in the country with five top 100 prospects. Their 2026 high school class ranks third in the country with 20 total commits and eight top 100-ranked prospects.
With the recent national championship culture surrounding LSU in Baton Rouge, the recruiting that head coach Jay Johnson and his staff have down has been top-notch.
