LSU Tigers Keep No. 1 Ranking In Their Paws

The NCAA Baseball Top 25 Division I Rankings from were released on April 9, and there’s a familiar sight at the top.  

Louisiana State University remains No. 1 in the country with their record at 26-5. East Carolina University was the only team bouncing upward into the top 10 from No. 12 to No. 8 in the nation after beating North Carolina State University 13-9 on Tuesday and sweeping the University of Central Florida on Thursday 17-7 and Friday 3-2. 

The University of Louisville (24-7) jumped up in the rankings from 18th to 10th, and after losing to Lipscomb University on Tuesday 12-7, they went on and swept Boston College in a three-game series. 

The University of Kentucky (27-5) dropped out of the top 10 despite beating the University of Dayton on Tuesday 13-6 and beating the University of Georgia in the first game of their three-game series 7-4. They lost both ends of a doubleheader against Georgia on Sunday 3-0 and 6-2.  

The University of Tennessee dropped from 11th in the rankings to 16th, with their overall record at 22-10  after losing two out of three games the University of Florida last weekend. 

Three new programs entered the top 25, with University of Southern California (20-10-1) getting in the poll at No. 23, Arizona State University (23-9) entering the poll at No 24, and Texas Christian University (20-12) at No. 25.
