The 2026 college baseball season will be the graduate year for Luke Harrison with the Texas Longhorns. With 17 career starts and 116 2/3 innings under his belt in three seasons of play, he brings experience to the Texas pitching staff.
Harrison and his Breakout 2025 Season with Texas
Leading up to 2025, the left-handed pitcher threw a total of 46 innings. In 2025, he pitched 70 2/3 innings, making 15 starts and tallying a 5-1 record.
Harrison earned wins over Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
During that stretch of 70 2/3 innings, Harrison had a team-best 3.06 ERA and 72 strikeouts. He was second on the team in strikeouts behind Dylan Volantis.
Harrison also allowed an opposing batting average of .237 and threw only three wild pitches, showing that he maintained steadiness and control in his pitching.
The southpaw’s best game of the 2025 season came in his win against the Ole Miss Rebels during the 2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington.
He pitched a season-high 6 1/3 innings, striking out six Ole Miss hitters. He also allowed just two hits, one walk, and no runs. The Longhorns won the game by a wide margin, 10-0.
The Longhorn Left-Hander’s Impact in both 2025 and 2026
With a team-leading ERA, Harrison played a massive role in the widely successful season for Texas. The Longhorns finished the season with a 44-14 overall record and a 22-8 record in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play.
In their first season in the SEC, they won the conference’s regular season title and were the number two national seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
Much like last season, Texas can find a lot of success with Harrison being a staple within their starting rotation.
Up Next for the Texas Longhorns
Texas will begin the 2026 college baseball season with a three-game weekend series from February 13-15 at Disch-Falk Field in Austin. They will face off against the UC Davis Aggies.
