The Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional has set its target dates for the opening day of the season for October 21 or 22, during the Major League Baseball playoffs, according to Manuel Gil of Meridiano.net, a Venezuelan news source.

Gil spoke in a one-on-one interview with Rafael Gruszka, Vice President of the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol, about the amount of games the winter league season will play during the regular season. “It will be 56 games,” Gruszka stated on Meridiano.net, translated from Spanish to English.

The official announcement will be made on the league’s social media platforms according to Gruska, “I think next week without fail.”

The Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional teams have all announced their managers for the upcoming 2023-24 season: for the Navegantes del Magallanes, Miguel Cairo; skippering Águilas de Zulia, Pat Listach; running the Cardenales de Lara, Henry Blanco; taming the Leones del Caracas, José Alguacil; managing the Tiburones de La Guaira, Edgardo Alfonzo; herding the Tigres de Aragua, Buddy Bailey; leading the Caribes de Anzoátegui, Ramon Borrego, and managing the Bravos de Margarita, Jose Moreno.

The Leones del Caracas will play their home games in Estadio La Rinconada during the 2023-24 regular season after playing in Estadio Universitario from 1951 to 2022.

Estadio La Rinconada opened up for the 2023 Caribbean Series and it will be open for its first LVBP season with Leones as a tenant when the winter league begins.

The league has not announced which television networks will be streaming all their 2023-24 regular season and playoff games.

The league’s best-of-seven championship series will end during late January, prior to the start of the 2024 Caribbean Series from February 1-9 at loanDepot Park in Miami. Venezuela will have one off-day in the Caribbean Series on Friday, February 2.

The 2024 Caribbean Series will be televised on ESPN Deportes through the final out of the championship game, and it will be the first time that event is in a Major League Baseball stadium.
