With the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional entering its third week, teams are starting to welcome reinforcements with Major League Baseball experience as the 2025 season progresses. One of the latest to strengthen its roster is the Bravos de Margarita.
The Bravos announced the addition of left-hander José Quijada for November. Margarita, currently in third place at 7–6, will look to the veteran reliever to bolster its bullpen. Quijada posted a 1.98 ERA for Triple-A Salt Lake City this year, striking out 18 batters over 13 2/3 innings, giving the Bravos a proven high-leverage arm for late-game situations.
Meanwhile, the Leones del Caracas could soon get an impact bat in Lenyn Sosa. According to Venezuelan journalist Carlos Valmore, the Chicago White Sox infielder could be ready to join Caracas within the next week and a half. Sosa is coming off the best season of his major league career, hitting 22 home runs and posting a career-high .727 OPS in 2025. His addition would further strengthen a lineup already among the most productive in the league.
Caracas is also set to receive major help on the pitching side. Guardians reliever Carlos Hernández is expected to join the team in November, Valmore reported. In addition, Keider Montero will be added to the roster after November 20. Hernández recorded a 3.86 ERA after being acquired by Cleveland, while Montero split time between the rotation and bullpen for Detroit in 2025. As a starter, he posted a 3.72 ERA with 46 strikeouts across 58 innings and later emerged as a key arm out of the Tigers’ bullpen during the postseason, throwing 8 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run.
Another notable reinforcement comes to the Tiburones de La Guaira, with the addition of Nicaraguan right-hander Stiven Cruz. Expected to represent Nicaragua at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, Cruz will use his time in Venezuela to prepare for international play while giving La Guaira a boost in relief. He reached Double-A in the Milwaukee Brewers’ system this season, posting a 4.91 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 22 innings.
As November begins, LVBP rosters will continue to add MLB talent to bolster rosters as the winter league will get even more competitive.
