The Miami Marlins have made a major announcement to enhance the fan experience at loanDepot Park. Their team announced a partnership with Cordish Companies to start Miami Live!, an improved fan experience.
“The development will include indoor-outdoor dining and entertainment spaces aimed at fostering community and elevating the fan experience, including curated year-round activations focused on community programming for all ages,” the team’s press release read. “With this development, the Marlins and The Cordish Companies are proud to create a thriving destination while also contributing to the local community by generating new employment opportunities across various sectors, including skilled trades, marketing, sales, and operations.”
The Marlins are not the only team to make an addition to improve their fans’ experience. The Atlanta Braves offer a similar experience with what they call The Battery. Similar to Miami Live!, The Battery features entertainment all year, not just during baseball season. It does not require ticket admission and allows fans to experience culture as well as Braves baseball.
The Milwaukee Brewers opened X-Golf at American Family Field in 2022. The indoor golf simulator gives fans in Milwaukee something to do before games and adds to the experience for fans who want to add to their game-day itinerary.
The Philadelphia Phillies also have a unique game-day experience in the ballpark. The Yard is a 13,000-square-foot interactive kids’ baseball experience. The Yard is a WIFFLE ball field with dugouts and astroturf for young Phillies fans to enjoy.
Ultimately, the fan experiences at ballparks are very important. Baseball is constantly fighting allegations of losing fans. Making the game day experience more than just a ball game is key if baseball wants to continue growing.
