The New York Mets walked off the Washington Nationals while the Atlanta Braves were shut out by the Los Angeles Dodgers, giving the Mets sole possession of the final wild-card spot in the National League. Here’s everything you missed from last night’s MLB action.
New York Mets 2, Washington Nationals 1
One night after being walked off by the Phillies, the Mets delivered a walk-off of their own. Starling Marte delivered an RBI single in the 10th inning in a crucial game. With Atlanta losing, the Mets are in sole possession of the final wild-card spot.

Milwaukee Brewers 6, Philadelphia Phillies 2
In a battle of first-place teams, the Brewers offense stayed hot. The bottom of the order went 4-11 with three RBIs and two extra-base hits.
Los Angeles Dodgers 9, Atlanta Braves 0
The Dodgers’ offense put together a six-run seventh inning to defeat the Braves. Freddie Freeman went deep against his former team, and the Dodgers split the series.
Cleveland Guardians 4, Minnesota Twins 3
Rookie Kyle Manzardo delivered a clutch go-ahead two-run home run in the eighth inning to get Emmanuel Clase warming up. Clase delivered his 46th save of the year.

Detroit Tigers 7, Kansas City Royals 6
The Tigers overcame a Bobby Witt Jr. grand slam that gave the Royals an early 4-0 lead. Matt Vierling went 3-5 at the plate with an RBI.
Chicago Cubs 9, Oakland Athletics 2
The Cubs are all but eliminated from the postseason, but their offense has started to click. Dansby Swanson came up with four RBIs on two hits.
St. Louis Cardinals 4, Pittsburgh Pirates 0
Paul Skenes delivered another quality start, striking out seven in six innings of work. However, Andre Pallante shut down the Pirates’ offense, going seven innings and striking out nine. The Pirates were 0-4 with runners in scoring position.
Colorado Rockies 3, Arizona Diamondbacks 2
The Diamondbacks walked off the Brewers on Sunday, and the Rockies walked them off on Monday. A throwing error by Geraldo Perdomo trying to turn a double play led to Brenton Doyle scoring from second base in the bottom of the ninth.

Chicago White Sox 8, Los Angeles Angels 4
Andrew Benintendi continued his tear at the plate. He hit two home runs in the contest, picking up four RBIs as the White Sox in what has been a bad year, to say the least.
San Diego Padres 3, Houston Astros 1
The Padres lost no ground in the wild card race as they won a low-scoring game against the Astros. Jurikson Profar went 4-4 at the plate, including a huge solo home run in the eighth to give the Padres some insurance.
