Miami Hurricanes Surging with Four Straight ACC Series Wins

The Miami Hurricanes are trending in the right direction as the college baseball season enters its final month.

Head coach J.D. Arteaga’s team has won four straight Atlantic Coast Conference series and has swept their past two opponents, Georgia Tech and Boston College. Previously, the Hurricanes won series against Pittsburgh and Duke leading into the pair of series sweeps.

The Hurricanes’ record through this stretch of games dating back to April 4 is 12-3, which includes midweek games against Bethune-Cookman, Florida Atlantic, and Florida International.

Great Pitching Was Key in Series Win at Fenway Park Against Boston College – This past weekend, the Hurricanes held the Boston College Eagles to just seven total runs through three games.

All three Miami starters went five innings or more. The most impressive of the three was A.J. Ciscar during the middle game of the series, who went seven innings, struck out nine hitters, and gave up just two earned runs.

This was arguably the best Miami has looked away from Coral Gables all season long.

What’s Next? – Miami sits eighth in the ACC standings at 27-18 overall and 12-9 in conference play. With a month left of the regular season, they are playing their way into a fair chance at an NCAA Tournament spot.

An appearance in the tournament this season would be their fourth this decade. It would also be the 50th in the program’s history. The Hurricanes have the third most tournament appearances all-time behind only Texas and Florida State.

Miami does not have a midweek game this week. Instead, they will wait until this weekend when they face off against the N.C. State Wolfpack in a three-game series from May 2-4 at Alex Rodriguez Park.

The first pitch for the game on Friday, May 2, is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
