Miami fifth-year senior Derek Williams has been one of the best power hitters in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) this season.
On April 12, he hit his 14th home run of the season against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an 8-0 series-clinching win for the Hurricanes.

Williams now has 37 home runs in the past three seasons, which includes two seasons with Miami and one with Wichita State.
Williams is putting together an All-ACC season with the Canes
The Miami veteran is having the best season of his career in 2026. Along with 14 home runs, he has a .408 batting average, 1.331 OPS, 13 doubles, and 54 RBIs.
He is in the top ten in the ACC in all those statistical categories and is second in the conference in home runs and RBIs.
Williams has 19 multi-hit games this season, two of which came during this past weekend’s series against Wake Forest.
He’s played a hand in Miami being fourth in the ACC in team batting average (.312) and fifth in the ACC in home runs (59).
The outfielder is arguably the best hitter for the Hurricanes and is on track to be an All-ACC player.

The Miami Hurricanes are 27-9 overall and 8-7 in ACC play.
Their next game is Wednesday, April 15, against the South Florida Bulls. It is a home game for Miami at Alex Rodriguez Park in Coral Gables, Fla. The first pitch for the game is at 6 p.m. ET.
