Mid East Falcons Throw Combined No-Hitter in Their First Ever Baseball United Game

In their first game in franchise history, the Mid East Falcons threw a combined no-hitter to defeat the Karachi Monarchs 2–0 on Wednesday in Baseball United play.

Kazuki Yabuta made the start for the Falcons. A veteran of nine NPB seasons with the Hiroshima Carp who spent the past two years in Japan’s minor leagues with Oisix, Yabuta worked five hitless innings and struck out six. Yudai Mizushina, who earned a roster spot through a team tryout, followed with two innings and one strikeout.

Shotaro Kasahara, a former NPB and CPBL pitcher who spent 2025 in the NPB minors, handled the eighth. Former MLB pitcher Severino González threw the ninth, allowing one walk and securing the historic final out on a ground-ball force out off the bat of Isaac Núñez.

The no-hitter comes just five games into the league’s inaugural season. One week earlier, Baseball United saw a home run on the first pitch in league history.

Through the early stretch of the season, only one team remains winless: the Arabia Wolves, who have played just one game. The Karachi Monarchs and Mumbai Cobras opened the season with a three-game series. The Cobras sit in second place at 3–1, followed by the Monarchs at 1–3. The Falcons top the standings at 1–0.

The Wolves and Cobras meet on Thursday as Arabia looks for its first win.

Caleb McNeely, who played in the Frontier League and Atlantic League this year, leads Baseball United with a 1.465 OPS. Pavin Parks, who hit the first home run in league history and recorded the league’s first multi-homer game, leads in homers with two.

The regular season concludes Dec. 7, with the top teams advancing to the best-of-three Baseball United Series to crown the league’s first champion.
