On Friday, Florida A&M catcher Broedy Proppell announced that he would be entering the transfer portal.

The Tallahassee, Fla.-native received high praise from the Southwest Athletic Conference and was named first-team All-SWAC. He was second-team All-SWAC in 2024.

In 2025, Proppell had a .325 batting average with an on-base percentage of .451. He also had 12 home runs and 53 RBI. His nine triples this season made him second in the country among all Division One players.

He was top 10 in the SWAC in OPS (1.074) and home runs.

Proppell had 22 multi-hit games this season which tops the total 16 multi-hit games he had in 2024.

His season-high in hits was three hits, which he did six times this season. He did this agaisnt Arkansas-Pine Bluff twice, Alcorn State, Texas Southern, Jackson State, and Alabama A&M.

Proppell’s efforts this season helped to lead the Florida A&M Rattlers to a 33-25 overall record this season. They were 24-6 in SWAC play, which had them finish second in the conference standings behind the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.

The Rattlers had a good run in the SWAC Tournament at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala. before Bethune-Cookman hit a walk-off home run to beat them in the championship game.

Despite that, Florida A&M beat Grambling State twice and Southern during their run in the postseason.

Proppell will leave Tallahassee and Florida A&M after spending three seasons with the program.
