On Monday, Louisiana-Monroe reliever Josh Gregoire announced that he would be entering the transfer portal. The news came not too long after Louisiana-Monroe head coach Mike Federico announced he was stepping down.
In 2025, Gregoire had a 2.38 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. He only walked 18 batters as well while allowing an opposing batting average of .197.
He was also a huge player at the end of games for the Warhawks, as he recorded five saves. His most recent save came back on April 25 in a win over Old Dominion. He had two strikeouts in his one inning of work that game.
Gregoire’s best performance this season came on March 15 against the James Madison Dukes. He had five strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings while giving up just one hit and one earned run.
Gregoire had a 3-2 record this season with his three wins coming against Northwestern State, Louisiana, and Troy.
The Louisiana State-Eunice prospect built on his freshman season at the JUCO level with a fabulous season in the Sun Belt playing for Louisiana-Monroe.
In short, Gregoire is a developer and showed he can grow when stepping up through the different competitive levels of college baseball.
This makes him an intriguing relief pitcher in the transfer portal.
Up Next – Louisiana-Monroe finished the season 22-33 overall. The Warhawks are not playing in the Sun Belt tournament this week at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala.
The tournament is being played from May 20-25.
