According to MLB Pipeline, Missouri State outfielder Caden Bogenpohl is the 40th best 2026 MLB Draft prospect. He has played two years of college baseball with the Bears.
Bogenpohl and Two Seasons with Missouri State
During the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Missouri State Bears, Bogenpohl had a .294 batting average, a .447 on-base percentage, 24 doubles, 33 home runs, 15 steals, and 89 RBI.
In 2025, he was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference and also made the Missouri Valley’s All-Tournament team.
Bogenpohl’s best game of the 2025 season came on April 13, when Missouri State played against the Valparaiso Beacons. He had a double, a home run, five RBI, scored four runs, and was walked twice.
Missouri State’s 2025 Season with Bogenpohl
The Missouri State Bears were a great team a season ago, with Bogenpohl being a great fixture in their lineup.
They finished 30-25 overall and played well in Missouri Valley Conference play with a 17-8 record. This great record in conference play led to the Bears winning the 2025 conference regular season title. It was their first one since 2018.
Unfortunately, the Bears lost in the Missouri Valley Tournament championship and missed out on the NCAA Tournament.
The Murray State Racers beat them in the championship game 10-5 and would go on to make it all the way to the College World Series on an improbable Cinderella run.
Head Coach Joey Hawkins Extension, Switching Conferences, Up Next for Missouri State
On December 12, it was announced that Missouri State’s head coach, Joey Hawkins, received a contract extension through 2029. The 2025 season was his first year as the Bears’ head coach.
Hawkins has been with the team since 2022, when he joined as the school’s hitting coach. He also played shortstop for Missouri State from 2012-2015.
It is also noteworthy that the Bears are switching conferences in 2026 from the Missouri Valley to Conference USA.
Missouri State will begin the 2026 college baseball season on the road for a three-game weekend series lasting from February 13-15. They will play the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns at Russo Park in Lafayette, La.
