As college baseball’s postseason picks up, more players are entering the transfer portal for next year. Two good hitters from the Sun Belt conference entered the portal this week.
Michael Maginnis, OF, Georgia State Panthers
Michael Maginnis entered the portal on Tuesday. With Georgia State this season, he had a .302 batting average, 16 doubles, and 10 home runs.
He is also a big base-stealing threat with 18 stolen bases this season.
He was one of the best hitters in the Panthers’ lineup. According to 64 Analytics, he is the 8th-best player currently in the transfer portal.
Brennan Holt, INF, South Alabama Jaguars
Another one of the highly ranked hitters officially in the transfer portal is Brennan Holt. He had the true definition of a sophomore breakout season at South Alabama.
In 2025, he had a .303 batting average with an on-base percentage of .442. His slugging percentage jumped to .588, the best in the Jaguars’ offense this season. He also improved his RBI total to 31 this season.
He was a major contributor to the South Alabama offense that ranked in the top five in the Sun Belt.

The Sun Belt tournament is ongoing at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. The ballpark is normally home to the Montgomery Biscuits, the Tampa Bay Rays’ Double-A affiliate.
The tournament will run through May 25, when the championship game will be played. The first pitch for that game is scheduled for noon EDT.
