The MLB Draft League announced that the league would play an exhibition game against the Cape Cod Baseball League on June 30, at Citi Field at 4:05 p.m. EDT. The announcement came in a press release on June 26, via their X account.

The game will be nine innings and it will consist of some of the top players from both respective leagues. The MLB Draft League has had over 300 players get drafted since it was created in 2021.
The Cape Cod Baseball League has produced six players who were selected first overall, which includes last year’s first-round pick Travis Bazzana with the Cleveland Guardians.
Aaron Judge and Paul Skenes are among several star MLB players who played in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Sean Campbell, who is the president of the MLB Draft League, spoke about the exhibition against the Cape Cod Baseball League at Citi Field in the press release of the announcement.
“This matchup will highlight a group of exciting prospects, providing them the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of the scouting community at one of MLB’s top venues,” Campbell said. “We’re excited to build on this together in the future.”
The President of the Cape Cod Baseball League, Andrew Lang also spoke about the event.
“We are thrilled that the Cape Cod Baseball League will be playing an exhibition game at iconic Citi Field against a team from the MLB Draft League,” Lang said. “This is an incredible opportunity to provide our players with a truly memorable experience.”
The MLB Draft League roster has 28 players on it and the majority of them spent four seasons playing at a university. There are also a few players who attend JUCO and haven’t played in college yet.
The Cape Cod League Roster has 25 players on it and all of these players have used up their college eligibility. This game will give players another opportunity to improve their MLB Draft outlook, before it begins on July 13 in Atlanta.
