 Matt Tallarini - World Baseball Network  |    Dec 18th, 2024 5:24pm EST

The landscape of Major League Baseball has continued to grow with the enormous contract player signings in the history of professional sports, especially during the 2025 offseason.

World Baseball Network made a list of the 30 MLB teams’ largest players contracts going into the 2025 season, with the New York Mets recently signing four-time All-Star and 2019 World Series champion outfielder Juan Soto to a $765 million contract, including no-money deferred and a $75 million signing bonus on December 11.

There have been 12 international-born players that have signed the largest contract with an MLB team: Shohei Ohtani (LAD) from Japan, Juan Soto (NYM), Robinson Cano (SEA), Rafael Devers (BOS), Jose Ramirez (CLE), Willy Adames (SF), Luis Severino (ATH) and Wander Franco (TB) from the Dominican Republic, Miguel Cabrera (DET)  and Jose Altuve (HOU) from Venezuela, Carlos Corea (MIN)  from Puerto Rico, and Joey Votto (CIN) from Canada.
