On Sunday, the South Carolina Gamecocks had a fall exhibition game against the Charlotte 49ers at Founders Park in Columbia.
The Gamecocks’ lineup provided some major power as four different hitters had home runs.
The first home run of the exhibition for South Carolina came from KJ Scobey. He hit a two-run home run in the second inning.
Scobey is looking to be a big contributor for the Gamecocks in 2026. During his freshman season in 2025, he had eight home runs and 27 RBI in 191 at-bats.
Later in the second inning versus Charlotte, Dawson Harman hit a home run for the Gamecocks.
In 2025, he was playing at the junior college level for the College of Central Florida. He had a .370 batting average, 24 home runs, 65 RBI, and 71 runs scored for the Patriots.
South Carolina catcher Talmadge LeCroy hit a three-run home run in the same inning as Harman.
LeCroy is a veteran for the Gamecocks as he has played four seasons in Columbia. He has a career batting average of .255 with 136 career hits and 87 career RBI.
LeCroy only played in 17 games during the 2025 college baseball season.
Incoming transfer Erik Parker had a huge day for South Carolina against the 49ers.
He had four hits in five at-bats with a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Parker also had a double in the game, six RBI, and scored three runs himself.
The infielder is transferring into South Carolina after spending his freshman season with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2025.
Parker appeared in 16 games for Georgia last season and scored 10 runs.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have another fall exhibition game this week. On Thursday, November 6, they will travel to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park to play the College of Charleston Cougars.
The ballpark is normally home to the Charleston RiverDogs, who are the Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
The first pitch for that game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.
