Myles Bailey Undergoes Successful Leg Surgery, Out for the Remainder of the Season

On Saturday, March 28, Florida State star Myles Bailey suffered a leg injury sliding into second base against the Duke Blue Devils.

He was then carted off the field on a stretcher, and the Seminoles went on to win the game 12-11.

Afterward, Bailey received a successful surgery on his leg. However, he will miss the remainder of the 2026 college baseball season as he recovers.

Florida State head coach Link Jarrett commented on the loss of Bailey.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Myles for a full, speedy recovery. I have not coached a player with a better combination of work ethic, character, and skill. His application of work allowed Myles to develop into a spectacular player both offensively and at first base. He has amazing parents, who molded him into a wonderful young man. Our medical team was fully engaged from the moment he was injured. He will recover from this injury and return to his dynamic form.”

Bailey and his career with Florida State

Bailey’s season ends with a .363 batting average in 80 at-bats for the Seminoles. He also had a .582 on-base percentage, 13 home runs, and 33 RBIs.

Through his first two seasons in Tallahassee, Bailey has 32 career home runs and 95 hits for Florida State.

He was coming off a freshman season in 2025, where he was a first-team Freshman All-American. Bailey was also second in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in home runs a year ago as well.

Up next for Florida State

After an 11-4 loss to Duke on Sunday, March 29, the Florida State Seminoles have a 21-6 overall record and a 7-2 record in ACC play.

Their next game is on Tuesday, March 31, against the Stetson Hatters. The game is at Melching Field in DeLand, Fla., and the first pitch is at 6:30 p.m. ET.
