Two Atlantic Coast Conference rivals from North Carolina are set to square off in a fall exhibition game at a neutral site.

The N.C. State Wolfpack and North Carolina Tar Heels will play at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on October 16. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT.

The ballpark is home to the Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A affiliate, the Durham Bulls. It was also home to the 2025 ACC Tournament, which the North Carolina Tar Heels won.

It is the first time the two teams will square off for a fall exhibition game in Durham, N.C.

Breaking Down N.C. State and North Carolina’s 2025 Seasons

In 2025, the N.C. State Wolfpack finished the season 35-21 overall. They were also 17-11 in conference play.

The Wolfpack finished fourth in the ACC standings behind Georgia Tech, Florida State, and North Carolina.

They made the NCAA Tournament and were the second seed in the Auburn regional. N.C. State did not make it to a super regional, but picked up two wins during regional play against Stetson and Central Connecticut State.

North Carolina finished the 2025 season 46-15 overall. The Tar Heels were 18-11 in conference play and finished third in the ACC standings.

They went on to win the ACC Tournament in Durham and hosted a regional in Chapel Hill as the number five national seed.

They also got to host the Chapel Hill super regional, but lost to the Arizona Wildcats, missing out on back-to-back trips to the College World Series.
