Gyun-an pitched for the Giants on June 25th against the Kia Tigers. During the start, he allowed eight runs on seven hits through just one and two-thirds innings. Guyn-An also walked six batters. After this poor start, followed by the incident the night before, the Giants chose to suspend Na.
The twenty-six-year-old righty has struggled through fourteen starts in 2024. Gyun-an is 2-7 with a 9.05 ERA and 41 walks. His fourth season in the KBO, all with the Giants, will take an unexpected turn.
He made his debut with the Giants in 2021. Through 99 games, he is 12-25-1 with a 5.10 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP. Na is coming off a career-best season that saw his ERA dip below four to 3.80.
The Giants have struggled during the 2024 season with a record of 35-40-3. They must find another starter to step up while Na Gyun-an is off the mound for thirty games.
NOTE: Na Gyun-an was involved in another scandal involving his wife earlier this year. His wife alleged that Na was abusive and had been cheating on her. The Giants released a statement that revealed Na denying the allegations.
