The NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) are hiring Ho Joon Lee as the team’s new manager, the club announced on Tuesday, October 22.

According to Yonhap News Agency, his deal is worth up to $1.01 million over three years. Lee played five seasons for the NC Dinos and was also captain.

Lee spent 22 years playing in the Korean Baseball Organization. He has 2,000 career games under his belt and 327 home runs. He worked as the NC Dinos hitting coach from 2019 to 2021. Since 2022, he has been working with the LG Twins.

Lee spoke of his gratitude for the Dinos organization.

“The Dinos have been a special team in my heart, because I played in the team’s inaugural game in 2013 and I had the privilege of having the first retirement ceremony in franchise history,” Lee said. “I’m honored to be the manager of such a special team. We have a lot of youth and promise in this club. The development of young players will lay the foundation for our success going forward, and my job is to turn their promise into reality.”

Lee replaces In-kwon Kang as manager. Kang was fired after the Dinos fell from second to ninth place from May to the end of the season.
