CLEMSON, S.C. – Doug Kingsmore Stadium, home of the Clemson Tigers, opened in 1970. It has seen many renovations over the years but still remains a staple in Clemson athletics.
It can hold up to 6,272 people, with the attendance record being set back in 2022 when the Tigers hosted the South Carolina Gamecocks. A grand total of 6,632 people attended that game.
It is loved by many in the college baseball world as Clemson led the ACC in attendance in 2024.
Here is a review of Doug Kingsmore Stadium as I got a great look at it during the Tigers’ home, weekend series against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Unique Seating/Standing Room – The best part of Doug Kingsmore Stadium were two unique places from which fans could watch the game. The first is the Cajun Cafe, a staple of Clemson baseball. It has been around for almost 25 years and is a place where food is grilled within the bleachers where people sit.
From the view in the press box, you could see the smoke from the grilling blow into the sky. This is one of the biggest highlights of any baseball game at Clemson and is a unique part that makes Doug Kingsmore a great place to go.

Another area fans can watch games that was a great part of the ballpark was by the opposing bullpen. This is a newer part of the ballpark, added in 2025, and is a way to get Clemson fans close to the action and be a nuisance to opposing pitchers as they warm up.
This feature paints Doug Kingsmore Stadium in a way that says it is not easy for opposing teams to play in.

Out of the handful of ballparks I have travelled to, this had the most unique options when it came to seating.
SCORE – 9/10
Atmosphere – The fact two top ten teams in the country were playing each other helped. However, the atmosphere from the fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium was incredible.
The fans were into each game from Friday through Sunday and prompts on the scoreboard screen from Clemson head coach Erik Bakich were a unique way to get the fans involved.
He even spoke about the crowd postgame following the tight loss the Tigers suffered to the Demon Deacons.
“I thought it was a great crowd. I thought they were into it…When they’re [fans] loud, there is not a more hostile environment.”

The crowd made the trip to Doug Kingsmore Stadium a great one. It was easy to see how much baseball means to the Clemson faithful.

Conclusion – Doug Kingsmore Stadium’s longevity as the home of the Clemson Tigers, unique seating for fans, and great atmosphere, give it that classic college baseball feel.
It is a park baseball fans are sure to enjoy.
