The Dutch food industry giant is active in the Asian markets and believes the association with international baseball will help raise brand awareness.
The Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation (KNBSB) announced a deal with a significant sponsorship partner for the National Team participating in the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup.
Wellink, a Dutch giant in the food industry, will display its logo on the Dutch National Team’s helmets.
Like the Dutch national baseball teams, Wellink is a brand active in Asian markets, and helmet sponsorship helps raise brand awareness in these ‘baseball markets’.
Wellink commercial director Laurens Blanken said: “The Netherlands proved that a relatively small country could excel. We are also convinced that our products can excel in different markets.”
World No. 8 the Netherlands open their U-23 Baseball World Cup against No. 3 Korea on Friday, 14 October, at Tianmu Stadium in Taipei City.
